Our Story of Mark the Snake

We arrived at school one day to find our class pet, Mark the Snake, was missing.

Our class made signs which we hung around the school

asking other students (and staff) to keep an eye out for Mark the Snake.

After several months Mark was found!!!

We are sharing our story about finding him here.

The Day We Found Mark

First we came to school and Ms. Gill found Mark's skin.

She found the skin on the floor by her desk.  We felt happy.

Next we hung up the skin to remind us to keep looking for Mark.

Finally, Ms. Gill found Mark behind her file cabinet.  It is next to the heater.

We think Mark was trying to stay warm.

The Adventures of Mark the Snake

We believe that Mark the Snake had many adventures during the four months he was missing.  We thought about how he could have survived without Ms. Gill feeding him and we decided he snuck into the lunchroom to get milk to drink and searched the hallways for lost snacks as his food.

As for what Mark was doing, we think he was playing Goldilocks, searching for the best place to be.  Mrs. May's room was way too hot.  So Mark didn't stay there long.  Ms. A's class was too cold so he didn't stay there either.  But, Ms. Gill's class was just right, which is why he stayed there.

Mark also needed a place to shed his skin.  Mr. Morton's class was too scratchy so he didn't stay there.  Ms. Zack's class was too soft and he didn't like that either.  But, guess whose class was just right?    Ms. Gill's room was just right.

Mark needed to play once in a while, so he searched for the best room.  Mr. Burk's room was no fun at all, so he didn't stay there long.  Mrs. May's class was TOO MUCH fun and he got tired and left that room too.  But, Ms. Gill's room was just right so he hung out there.

We think Mark got lonely and missed Ms. Gill and her students, which is why he left a clue so she would find him.  Mark is happy to stay in the classroom that is just right for him.

THE END
