Dear Parents,

The cookie sale went well and the Crew Chiefs are learning.  The Cookie Crew who will be working next week is Chief, Mikah, Anthony, Tino, Lamaya and My’Aira.  They will be after school until 4:00 Thursday.  Please remember this so you won’t worry about them.  They can go to the after school program after this if they are enrolled in that program.

We sell chocolate chip and Oatmeal Raisin cookies.  They are $.50 each or three for $1.50.

We are going to stay with the vocabulary words for spelling.  Please remember that your child gets their words every Friday for the next week.  They should be working with them daily.

Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather.  We go out two or three times every day.  They will need to be dressed warm to enjoy winter.  Hats and mittens or gloves should be worn most days.  Boots and snow pants would also help.

Many of the children don’t know how to count money.  Too many of them don’t even know the names of the coins.  I need your help with this.  Please give the children some coins to practice with and ask them daily what they are and their value.  When they get that please let them count some coins to you.  Just give them some change and ask them to count it.  We teach them to start with the coin that has the largest value.

Conferences will be happening on Nov. 15, & Nov. 16.  Please bring your child to the conference.  We do what we call student led conferences.  The child will be showing you some of what they do in a day and you both will also meet with me and get your child’s report card.  If the time or day I sent home with your child does not work please call for a new one.  720-2767 The children get really excited to share.

The children planted and grew popcorn in Science.  If you transplant their plant into a larger pot it will continue to grow larger and then by spring you should be able to plant it outside.  Good luck!

Thank you to all the parents of the Halloween committee who sent food for the Halloween party.  The children had a great time.  They really enjoyed bobbing for apples.  They all got one.  Thanks also to Montaijah’s mom for helping with the party.

NO SCHOOL WED. NOV. 8

Have a great weekend!
